Antonio Cuevas Jr.

Antonio Cuevas Jr., Funeral Director

Tony was raised in Southern California, he began working in the funeral profession when he was 19 years old. He started out working services but really took a liking to the profession, so he decided to become a funeral director.

Becoming a Funeral Director
In 2009, Tony took and passed the funeral director examination and became a licensed funeral director. Tony worked for Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance in Monrovia, California, where he was trained and became a wonderful director. He then went on to work at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands, California, where he was able to help many families in the Redlands community.

He later accepted a position as assistant manager with Ingold Funeral Chapel in Fontana, California. Tony was raised in Fontana not too far from Ingold Funeral Chapel, so it was a perfect fit bringing him back to the area and community he grew up in.

Opening Sunset Funeral Care
Although Tony loved his job with Ingold Funeral Chapel, he left to pursue and open his own funeral home, Sunset Funeral Care, with his business partner Jennifer Wright. He looks forward to working with the community and being able to help families through his new endeavor.

Jennifer Vannatter

Jennifer Vannatter, Funeral Director & Embalmer

Jenny wanted to be a funeral director from the time she was nine years old. Growing up next door to a funeral home always drew her attention to the field. After high school, Jenny wrote a letter to all of the mortuaries in her town offering her time as a volunteer at night and on the weekends.

Arlington Mortuary in Riverside was so touched by the letter that they called her in for an interview and hired her to direct funeral services—with pay! After a year at Arlington, they offered her a position as an apprentice embalmer and worked with her schedule so that she could attend Cypress College® and major in Mortuary Science.

Jenny's School Years and Association Involvement
Jenny attended Southern California's only Mortuary College in Cypress, CA. During school, Jenny was vice president of her class and received scholarships from Orange Belt and California Funeral Directors Association, so she started volunteering her time on their boards and committees. After serving on the board for two years for Orange Belt Funeral Directors Association, she was asked to serve as their vice president and went on to serve as president 2006-2007. She is currently on the Board of Directors.

After two years as a committee member for California Funeral Directors Association, she was voted to serve on the Board of Directors. In 2009, she was voted by her peers as the California Funeral Directors Association Young Funeral Director of the Year. She is currently serving as a committee member.

Beginning the New Venture
After serving the Redlands community for over 7 years as a funeral director and embalmer at Emmerson Bartlett, Jenny is excited to continue her journey by opening up her own funeral home in the town that she adores. She loves Redlands and currently serves as Underwriting Chair for Bonnes Meres Auxilliary.
