Robert Patrick Jackson (Robbie) entered eternal rest on December 26, 2023 in Wildomar, California. He had multiple health issues that finally got the best of him.
He was born in Burbank, California, on January 6, 1957. The family's new roots were set as he was the first child to be born in that State after immigrating from Louisiana. Robert married twice. Kathy Olsen was his first wife; they divorced and took separate paths. Robert & Wanda his second wife resided in Wildomar, CA until he was called to heaven.
He lived in several California cities, but his favorite was Redding, CA Starting as a tire-mount man with Goodyear Tires, Robert worked his way up to store manager. The money was good, and it fueled his way to his great passion… fast cars. He owned two high-performance vehicles: a Plymouth Duster and a Corvette. It was "Pedal to the Metal" on Friday and Saturday race nights. He loved the feeling of pushing an engine to its limit.
Sadly, one evening while driving home he overshot the road's edge and rolled his vehicle. They found him, unconscious, laying facedown a small distance from the wreck. There were drag marks on the ground showing he had crawled out of the wreckage, by himself, before it exploded into flames. In the hospital, Robert was in a coma lasting four weeks. When he regained conciseness, he had no memory of the accident or crawling to safety.
The health consequences of that accident lasted for years. Short-term memory loss was only one problem stemming from that crash… and it got worse every year. But he never gave up trying to recover!
Robert leaves behind his wife of 33 yrs, a brother, sons, daughters, several cousins and uncles. Cremation was Robert's wishes. A private Celebration of Life location will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please send donations to the Alzheimer's Research Association.
