It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Bishop on July 23, 2026 at the age of 90 in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Robert was born on June 6,1936 in Los Angeles, CA. After his family moved Los Angeles Robert spent the majority of his life living in San Bernardino, CA. where he attended local elementary schools and graduated from San Bernardino High School. Robert went on to become a professional hairdresser and opened several beauty shops. Robert always loved beautiful antiques and displayed them in his homes. In Robert’s middle years he became an avid grower and displayer of orchids and became President of the Riverside San Bernardino Counties Orchid Society multiple times. Robert routinely won awards for individual orchid plants, floral arrangements, and landscape displays. Robert enjoyed going to the casinos in Coachella valley and even though he loved to gamble, he more than anything else loved the people he met and the conversations they had.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Margery Bishop, father Robert B. Bishop, sister Margarite Cooper, and a great nephew Ty Cooper. Robert was fortunate to be able to care for both of his parents in the years before their passing.

Robert is survived by his husband and partner of fifty-six years, Marvin L Young, his sister’s four children, Robert, Todd, Shelley, and Erin as well as eleven great nieces/nephews and six great-great nieces/nephews. He is also survived by Marvin’s brothers David and Galen as well as their children and grand children.
