Melvin Herbert Schneider, a man remembered for his warmth, generosity, and love for people, passed away on July 6, 2023, in Redlands, California. Born on August 27, 1931, in Jasper County, Missouri, Melvin's life was marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

Melvin was the cherished son of Herbert Elbert Schneider (June 17, 1889-January 9, 1984) and Icy Mae (Large) Schneider (January 9, 1913-May 22, 1996) both of whom preceded him in death. His life was enriched by his loving brothers and sisters, John Elbert, Leonard, and Ronald, Vada, Eleanora, Bonnie Shipman, and Margaret (Jean) Morrison. Melvin's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he carried their love and influence with him always.

Melvin was blessed with a long and happy marriage to his wife, June Elaine (Medearis) Schneider, who preceded him in death on February 18, 2012. June and Melvin were married on March 9,1952 in Wichita, Sedgewick County, Kansas. Together, they raised a family of five children: sons David Wayne Schneider, born February 9, 1953 (Sherri), Daniel Ray Schneider, born February 24, 1955 (Yolanda), Dale Allen Schneider, born March 4, 1956 (Cindy), and daughters Julie Ann (Schneider) Andersen, born August 30, 1958 (Herb) and Paula June (Schneider) Hotchkiss, born September 14, 1960 (Robert). Melvin was immensely proud of his children and found great joy in their accomplishments.

His life was marked by service to his country. Melvin honorably served in the United States Army, Class A65 ARTY, from May 16, 1952 to May 8, 1954. His dedication to his country was a source of pride for him, and his service was a testament to his strong character and commitment to duty.

Throughout his life, Melvin held various jobs, but he found most joy in his work at Walmart. His love for people and his outgoing nature made him a beloved figure among his colleagues and customers alike. According to Melvin there was no such thing as a stranger. Melvin's dedication to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and community.

Melvin was a man of many passions, but his love for people stood out the most. He never met a stranger, and his kindness and warmth touched many lives. His ability to connect with others and his genuine interest in their lives made him a beloved figure in his community.
