Marjorie Jane Hollinger, known by many who loved her as "Farmor" (Swedish for father's mother) died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday September 8th, 2018 in her Redlands home. Marjorie was born on a farm in Oconto County, Wisconsin in 1918 to James and Eva McGraw. Her family moved to Ballard Washington, near Seattle, before her fifth birthday, where she spent her remaining childhood. She often recounted her fond memories of the Ballard Cty Library, where she checked out the maximum number of books each week and read by flashlight into the night.
At age 16, she graduated from high school and with the financial help of her loving brother, Morland, enrolled as a Math Major at the University of Washington.

In 1938, while employed as a nurse at Swedish Hospital in Seattle she met a handsome Swedish immigrant at a dance, Nils Sporrong, who had immigrated to the U.S. in 1929.. Marjorie and Nils were married in a Swedish-American wedding including a whole roasted pig. She was expected to take the first slice from the snout.
They had 2 boys, Robert Nils and Michael Morland. A divorce followed. Marjorie got the car and one son, Robert. Nils got the Little House and one son, Michael.
During WWII, while working the graveyard shift at Boeing Aircraft, she became good friends with Luella Henderson, who she introduced to her Army Air Corp Cadet brother, Milo. Milo and Luella were married after a two-week courtship and remined close to Marjorie for nearly eight decades.
In 1949 she married an athletic Texan, a Veteran of duty in Australia and the Philippines, Floyd Hollinger. They moved to Houston and later to a little house on a sheep ranch in West Texas with it's own gas well but no running water. Her third son, Floyd Hollinger, Jr., was born in Texas. They later moved to Riverside and finally Redlands where she started a payroll and data processing company, Rapid Data, Inc.
It was 1962, with the rise of Rapid Data, a new chapter began for Marjorie, a company that cemented her legacy of leadership, innovation, incredible work ethic, business savvy and family matriarch. A true family run company, Rapid Data, united her husband, sons, and grandchildren all employed by the company at various stages. It was in parallel to the growth of the family business that she was able to pursue passion for travel and philanthropy, traveling with family all over the world, with over six trips in her most loved country of Ireland. She served on various boards in the Inland Empire including San Bernardino Juvenile Detention Center and Loma Linda International Heart Institute. She continued to work as company president until the day of her passing at 99 years old.
Marjorie is survived by her three sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am this Saturday September 15th, at Montecito Memorial Park in the Veteran's Garden of Valor 3520 E. Washington St., Colton 92324
