Malory Grossman, 14, of Redlands, died on March 26th. From her earliest years, Malory fought hard against health issues including Dandy-Walker Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and epilepsy. She passed away suddenly last week at the Loma Linda University Medical Center ER due to cardiac arrest.
Private funeral services were held for her family this week, arranged by Sunset Funeral Care. Malory was buried at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands. She was a student at Cope Middle School.
Malory was never able to speak, but her sweet smile and fighting spirit inspired everyone who met her. She showed others that living with multiple disabilities can be a happy and fulfilling life, all made possible by loving neighbors, teachers, doctors, nurses, and community support.
Malory is survived by her younger siblings Isaac and Claire, parents Eriko and Michael, Grandmother Mary, all of Redlands, and Grandfather Harry, of Sedona, AZ. A public memorial service for Malory is not yet planned, but may happen in the following months.
Friends can make donations designated in Malory's name to the Haiti Adventist Hospital via Adventist Health International, or to the disability advocacy group YO! Disabled and Proud.
