Linda Louise Adams passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 2, 2026 at the age of 82. She was survived by her husband Bruce, her son Benjamin, her daughter Jennifer Reynen, her brother Joe Long III, and her sister, Celia Vanderpool. She was Grandma of 10 and Great-Grandma of 11.
She was born on July 10, 1943, in Taft, CA to Joseph Sheldon Long Jr. and Constance B. (Pond) Long. During WWII, Joe was a flight instructor for the US Army Air Corps. After the war, Joe, Connie, Joe III, and Linda reunited in Riverside, CA to join their parents and grandparents who lived there. Linda’s dad graduated from Pomona College and then was an appraiser for Bank of America in Riverside. When the Korean War started, Joe, was recalled and ultimately was assigned to Kunsan Air Force Base in South Korea. In April of 1952, his plane was lost during a night mission and Joe was declared MIA.
Linda graduated from Ramona High School, then Riverside City College and received her BS degree from CSU Long Beach. She met Bruce Adams during a spring vacation trip to Balboa. They dated in college and were married in June 1964. Bruce joined the Navy in 1966 and served two tours in Vietnam. After leaving the Navy, Bruce joined RCA Computer Systems, moved the family to Redlands, and began a 40-year career in computers. Linda joined ESRI, a computer software company in Redlands, in 1987 and worked there until 2010 when she retired.
Linda and Bruce had two children. Ben was born in 1967. Jennifer was born in 1971. Ben is a teacher with Hemet USD and is married to Tammy who also works for Hemet USD. Jennifer works at Laguna Woods Equestrian Center and is married to Jim Reynen who is a minister at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo, CA.
Linda was involved with the First Congregational Church, played bridge in several groups and was a member of American Association of University Women and a local PEO chapter.
Her memorial service will be on August 15th at 10:00AM at the First Congregational Church of Redlands, 2 West Olive Avenue, Redlands, CA
