John K. Feenstra, age 84, ended his battle with cancer on Sunday, February 2, 2020. He left the house that he and his father built, his home for 50 years, and passed on to his heavenly home, to the place prepared especially for him. We will miss him, yet even in our grief, we rejoice that he is with his Saviour.
John Kenneth Feenstra was born to Thys* and Jeanette* Feenstra, née Zoetewey, on February 8, 1935 and his siblings include William (Shirley*), Audrey (Everett VanVoorthuysen), Marjorie* (Wacy*Armstrong), Gerald (Celia), Donald*(Janice) and Marvin (Kathleen). He is also remembered by brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Van Meeteren, and many nieces and nephews. (*preceded in death)
Johnnie married his sweetheart Beverly Rose Van Meeteren in 1956, and they were together over 63 years. They were blessed with four children: Kenneth Lee (Glenyce), Linda Ann (Peter Smit), Cynthia Jean (John Dermody) and Lori Lynn (Doug Bekkering). John worked as a Registered Engineer for California State Division of Highways (now known as Cal Trans) for 26 years and continued as a civil engineer in private industry, and for the City of Moreno Valley, until his retirement in 1994.
