Joaquin Albert Lopez ("Jack"), 88, passed away on January 29, 2026. He was born on June 19, 1937, in San Bernardino, California.
Jack was a proud lifelong resident of the San Bernardino community. He attended San Bernardino Valley College and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a United States Postal Service employee, from which he retired with pride. He was also a proud member of NARFE – the National Active and Retired Federal Employees, maintaining strong ties to the federal community throughout his retirement.
Jack honorably served his country in three branches of the United States Armed Forces. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1960 to 1962, the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1972 to 1977, and the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1977 to 1984, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant. His years of service reflected his deep patriotism, discipline, and commitment to his country.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Molly Lopez, in 2021. Their bond was a defining part of his life, and he carried her memory with him always.
Jack is survived by his siblings: Fred A. Lopez, Jr., Grace Vasquez, and Tony Lopez, along with extended family and friends who will remember him for his steady presence, loyalty, and dedication to both family and country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA) in honor of Jack's lifelong commitment to federal service.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
