Obituary of Jacqueline Spaulding
Jacqueline Elizabeth Spaulding, age 31, died August 28, 2017
in Victorville, California. Jacqueline was born October 2, 1985 in
Fontana, California to Donald Huntley SPAULDING and Judith
McGOUGH Spaulding.
Jacqueline enjoyed life with her numerous cousins and
friends. She liked reading books, telling jokes, road trips, traveling,
fishing, and camping (and especially her Uncle Butch's morning
roll-up pancakes filled with sugar).
In 1989 at age 3 Jackie was flower girl in the wedding of
family friends Wendy and Steve Langford and in 1990 at age 4 she
again was flower girl in her Uncle Doug and Fanny's wedding.
In November of 1992 when her sister Kaitlyn was just 3
years old and Jackie was 6, we visited Santa's Village in the San
Bernardino Mountains. When it came time to sit in Santa's lap,
Katie asked Santa if she could have a kitten for Christmas? Thus
the search was on for just THE right kitten. The lady with kittens
happened to have TWO kittens unclaimed, explaining their mother
was indeed a great hunter. With the help of our dear friend Julie
Baker, these two kittens were stored secretively until Christmas
morning. Thinking her kitten was a female, Jackie's named it April.
Only later we learned April was male, but she kept the name. For
the next 14 years Jackie took good care of April and his brother
Homer. In recent years Jackie owned two dogs named Lady Bug
and Buddy.
Jackie started music lessons and playing piano at age 4. At
that time she had access to a grand piano stored in our living room.
She continued music lessons, playing the piano. In her 4
th
grade
Jackie joined the school band, playing the trumpet sent to her by
her grandparents in New Jersey. The same trumpet used by her
father in his youth. She played the trumpet in the school band until
high school.
With her father, Jackie joined the youth group Indian Guides
and Princesses (K thru 6) with their programs providing
experiences for parents and children that reinforce awareness of
nature and community. Her Indian Princess name was Singing
Dove. During Junior High she was on the Volley Ball team.
Jacqueline was accepted as a member of the Children of the
American Revolution in 2003 and later Daughters of the American
Revolution.
Jackie attended schools in the Alta Loma School District and
graduated from Etiwanda High School in 2003.
Jacqueline was employed as Receptionist with beauty salons,
Shipping & Receiving with CD Digital, Transportation Clerk for
Excel Scotts, and Boyd's Mattresses.
Jacqueline is survived by daughter Elizabeth, age 3, and
Elizabeth's parents Mr. and Mrs. Amador; parents Dr. Donald H.
Spaulding and Judy Spaulding of Rancho Cucamonga; sister
Kaitlyn Lee Spaulding of San Diego; and grandmother Phyllis
Elizabeth HAMPTON Spaulding of Cherry Valley, California. And
numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pall Bearers: John Crabb, Steven Vogelsang, Ralph Peck, Dr. Carl Boeck, Kirk Warner, and Christopher McGough.
Jackie had a commanding presence and sharp wit. Those who
were a part of her life will greatly miss her warm exuberant
personality.
Burial at Bellevue Memorial Cemetery, Ontario, California.
