Heath R. Tankersley, affectionately known as "Tank," passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2026, at the age of 48.

Born with a larger-than-life presence, Heath earned the nickname "Tank" while attending Yucaipa High School, where he excelled in football. A powerful lineman on the football field and a hard-hitting slugger on the YVLL baseball diamond, the name reflected not only his physical strength but also the strength of his character.

Heath made his home in Mentone, California, where he built a life centered on hard work, family, and helping others. A skilled welder, mechanic, and gifted handyman, there seemed to be little he couldn't build, repair, or figure out. If something needed fixing, Heath was the person people called.

Those who knew Heath will remember his warm, easygoing nature and his quick wit. He never cared much for pomp and circumstance, preferring genuine conversations, a good laugh, and simply being himself. His humor came naturally; sharp, perfectly timed, and often enough to brighten someone's day.

Above all else, Heath was a father. He is lovingly remembered by his three children, Heath Nicholas, Junuh Ray, and Presley Elizabeth-Kay, who were a constant source of pride in his life.

He is survived by his mother, Doreen Floyd; his stepfather, Brian Floyd; his brothers, Stanley Tankersley and Brice Floyd; and his sister, Tina Tankersley, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Though Heath left us far too soon, the memories he created, the kindness he showed, and the laughter he shared will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
