Donna Jean Evans, 92 yrs, died on January 2, 2026, in Rancho Cucamonga.
Donna was born on April 25, 1933, in Hays, Kansas, to James Edgar and Leota Ruth Lowe. Shortly after winning the Shirley Temple look-alike contest, her parents moved "Pal" and younger brother Perry to the state of Washington, before relocating to Orange, California. Donna graduated from Orange High School, married Marvin Allen and started raising their five children, before moving to Pomona, California. After divorcing, Donna worked for Edison Electric Co for 22 years. More importantly, she found love for the second time when Frank Evans captured her heart. They lived very happily for 27 years in San Jacinto: volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Old Olympics, coaching their handicapped bowling team, the Honey Bears, and working on her many craft projects. Their real joy came from traveling (with their rascally dog Pretzel) in their motor home to favorite fishing holes and line dancing events; while hopping from casino to casino on their way to the Chico area, Eagle Point, Oregon, and Texas to visit family. Upon Frank's passing in 2014, Donna began her battle with dementia, which she finally succumbed to. She remained content and cheerful, never losing her love for family and dancing.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents "Uncle Ed" and Ruth, brother Perry, husband Frank and grandsons Bisbee and Steven. She is survived by her children Mike Allen, Karen Eckl and son-in-law Kenny, David Allen, Lynette and son-in-law Tom Wilson, Lloyd Allen and daughter-in-law Christy, and niece/daughter Debby Gros. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, and nephews.
What a beautiful legacy to be loved by so many.
