A beloved mother and grandmother, not only to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, but also to those in the community; Diocelina Silva, age 81, went to be with her Lord on September 19, 2022. Diocelina left behind an image of immense love, patience, and strength. She is remembered as a woman of faith whose bibles were read until faded and worn, whose passionate prayers uplifted and encouraged any who had the pleasure of hearing them. Diocelina's hopes were for those she loved to find comfort in the word of God as she did, and for her children and grandchildren to never go hungry.
Diocelina was born in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico and she remembered her time there vividly. Recollections of "stealing" cheese meant for guests, delivering milk, and town gossip were told throughout the years. She arrived in the United States at the age of 29 and resided in Southern California for her remaining years. She spent her time knitting scarves and ponchos for loved ones as well as attending church services regularly. Her generosity was revealed through her willingness to open her home to those in need. She had seasons of fostering children and hosting church gatherings.
Diocelina leaves behind her husband, Roberto Silva, and their four children: Roberto, Dioselina, Leticia, and Lupe. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in the Packinghouse Christian Fellowship, Redlands, California on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, by Pastor Robert Probert. A committal service will be held immediately following at Perris Valley Cemetery, Perris, California.
