Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Cleo Phelps, a cherished family member, and friend. Cleo, born on June 4, 1950, transitioned peacefully on May 8, 2024, at the age of 73.

Cleo is mourned by his daughters Joann Palmer and Jennifer Meyering; his son, Jeremy Phelps; his beloved granddaughters Krystian Demelo, Bianca Phelps, Bethanie Ouimet, and Haley Gracias; and grandsons Dylan and Michael Meyering, Allen Demelo, and Brandon Ouimet. He is also survived by his sister, Susie Woodford; and brothers, Tim, Jeff, David, and Leo Phelps. His ex-wife, Vickey Pearson, and sons-in-law, Chad Palmer and Chris Catalano also grieve for their loss.

Cleo was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Kathy Phelps; brothers, Leon, Pat, Jack, Jim, and Mike Phelps; and his sister, Debbie Quinn. Each one holds a special place in Cleo's memory.

In 1970, Cleo married Vickey Pearson and they had three beautiful children together. Their marriage lasted for about 15 years before they got divorced in 1985. Despite the end of their marriage, the bond they shared through their children remained strong.

Cleo was a man best described by his sparkling smile and jocular nature. He had a deep-seated love for all things country, and when not watching the news, he could be found tuned into country music or any old movie. A lover of the simple pleasures in life, Cleo's favorite foods were candy and chips, while Coke was his drink of choice.

He was an outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and shooting and was a regular at the local country bars. He also had a penchant for country dancing, a testament to his love for country culture. Blue, a color that reflected his calm and collected nature, was his favorite.

Cleo's memory will forever be engraved in our hearts. His cheerful disposition and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. Despite our grief, we take solace in the fact that his spirit lives on through his loved ones.
