Obituary

Carol Lynne Eyster, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, therapist, and friend passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2025. She was born on October 12, 1949, to Charles Robert Eyster, Sr. and Emerita Daisy Sims in New Orleans, LA.

She is survived by her son, Jason Morris, her daughter, Hilary Lawson and son-in-law, Korey Lawson, her sister, Jodee Eyster Daroca, her brother-in-law, Charles Daroca, her former spouse, DeWitt Lionel Morris, Jr., her eight grandchildren, Izabella and Andrew Segura, Eden and Emery Lawson, Elijah Morris, Asher Lawson, Joseyah Lawson, and Abigail Lawson, and two great grandchildren, Dawson and Mabel Segura. Her brother, Charles Robert Eyster, Jr. passed away 2 weeks after her in Atlanta, GA.

She was raised in New Orleans, LA, where she attended Edward Hynes Elementary School, PGT Beauregard Junior High School, and Alcee Fortier High School. She started her college education at Newcomb College where she was a voice major who sang in the Acapella Choir and Tulanian Musical Group. She was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

After her move to California, she sang in several church choirs. However, her educational focus shifted from music to psychology. She continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino in 1981. In 1984, she earned her Master of Science in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino after publishing her thesis on pet facilitated therapy. She became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 1986.

Since 1995, Carol Lynne has lived in Redlands near her family and served that community through her private practice. She focused on being a consistent presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. This is most obvious in their cherished 25-year tradition of Friday night family dinners. She also prioritized creating a therapeutic space for her clients that allowed them to heal from their past and grow into healthier, more loving individuals.

Carol Lynne was a unique, determined, strong, wise, and loving woman. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to truly know her.

Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18th at 10am at the First Congregational Church in Redlands, reception to follow.
