Roger is preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Elizabeth Pikarski, his father Corporal Roger William Kampf, his mother Kathryn Grace Halsted, and stepfather Verne Dahlgren. Roger was born in Duluth, Minnesota raised by single mother, World War II widow and nurse. He learned the importance of hard-work, strength and trusting in the Lord. He attended Minnehaha Academy class of 1961, as a boy, and as a teenager he loved cars and spent time working on them. He was later certified as an apprentice by the State of Minnesota in Body and Fender repair. He was an avid hockey player and participated on local teams. Roger relocated to Denver, Colorado for work and proceeded to start a family, later being transferred to California. Since 1977 he called Yucaipa, California home. For the last 45 years he raised his family and built a home there. He loved sitting in the spa and enjoying the view from the back patio. In the 80s he enjoyed square dancing and playing bridge with friends. He was an elder and trustee of the Yucaipa Valley Presbyterian Church and graduated from Cal State University San Bernardino in 1980. Roger worked for over 17 years as supervisor and senior adjuster of workers’ compensation and personal injury cases for Aetna Casualty & Surety. In 1983 he quit his job at Aetna and embarked on a new adventure graduating from Southwestern Law School (class of 1985) through the scale program (4 years of law school in 2 years). A respected attorney, Roger founded his law firm, Kampf Schiavone and Associates in 1985, in San Bernardino, California. He worked tirelessly for what he called “the little guy” helping hundreds of injured clients get medical care and restitution. His friend and law partner Randall Schiavone continues with the legacy that Roger started. Roger enjoyed bowling, golf, poker, reading, ice hockey, and Corvettes. He was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Stars following his favorite player Mike Modano throughout his career. He was deeply proud of this country and the right to keep and bear arms.
