Everett Gilbert Van Voorthuysen Jr

On the morning of February 6, 2022, Everett G. Van Voorthuysen, 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep into his heavenly home. Everett was born on November 5, 1926 in Redlands to Evert and Elizabeth Van Voorthuysen. He was preceded in death by his dear wife of over 70 years, Audrey (Feenstra) VanVoorthuysen. He is survived by his four children, Karen Parham (Gary), Gail Kamps (Ken), Ron Van Voorthuysen (Laura), and Barb Schut (Ron). He was preceded in death by his sisters Christine Kooiman (Nelvin), Betty Ekema (John), Mary Jean Kimm (John), and brother Andy Van Voorthuysen (Alice). He is survived by brothers-in-law William Feenstra (Shirley), Gerald Feenstra (Celia). He was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Marjorie Armstrong (Wacy), brothers-in-law John Feenstra (Beverly), Donald Feenstra (Janice), and Marvin Feenstra (Kathy). He is lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. Everett lived in Redlands his entire life. He was a charter member of Hope Protestant Reformed Church in Redlands where he served in consistory for many years. Everett worked at Southern California Edison for 32 years. He and Audrey enjoyed many road trips in their motorhome. Graveside services at Hillside Memorial Park and funeral at Hope Protestant Reformed Church will be held on February 16, 2022. Even in our grief, his family and friends rejoice that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
