William Fredrick (Fred) Chipman passed away Thursday, January 9th, 2020 with his beloved wife Linda, and his children, Brian and Karen by his side.
Fred was born May 30th, 1940 to Fred and Frances (Reddick) Chipman in a small house on H St., in San Bernardino, Ca.
He was a retired Security Supervisor and Salesman, and a Life long San Bernardino area resident. His early years were spent playing baseball at all levels, hunting, fishing, and running around with his three brothers.
He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1958, and was a 4 year letterman. Baseball was his sport!
Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Navy, and spent four years serving our country as a signalman on the USS Oriskany, an aircraft carrier. Not only did he direct planes landing on the ship, but he also played baseball for the Navy overseas.
After meeting the love of his life Linda Louise Segna, the two were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in 1963. The following years were spent raising a family and continuing the hobbies he loved so much. Antiques and collectables, watching Westerns and Roy Rogers were his greatest passions, and although he did not continue to play baseball, he sure continued to watch it. Anyone who knew Fred, knew he loved his California Angels.
Those here to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Chipman, their children Karen (Michael) Leonard and Brian (Kristy) Chipman; two brothers, Donald (Shirley) Chipman, Kenneth (Sandy) Chipman, and sister in law Lora Chipman; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Matt, Heidi, Dylan, Kambria, Keegan, and Kenna; three great grandchildren Elijah, Zachary, and Grace Kathryn; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Those who have passed before him were his parents, Fred and Frances, his brother Robert (Lora) and his daughter Lisa.
His was a life well lived. He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. Happy Trails Fred!!
