Obituary

Richard Lee West lived in Uniontown, Pennsylvania early in his life. He was born on October 28, 1929 to Noah and Edna West. There were eight children: Catherine, Thomas, Noah, Edwin, Julia, Frances, and Walter. He was the youngest of the eight children. He met Sylvia Blackstock in Brooklyn, New York. They married and had three daughters, Diane, Joan, and Patricia. Richard briefly served in the Korean War and upon discharge, he chose the career of typesetter, for which he thoroughly enjoyed for several decades. He moved to be with his daughters and granddaughter in Southern California the last two years of his life, and often reflected on his strong love for all family members. Richard is survived by his daughters, Joan and Patricia, granddaughter Nikki Thompson, grandson, Alfred Greene II, and great-grandsons, Allen and Alexander Greene. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, December 24th at 10:45 a.m at Riverside National Cemetery... Sunset Funeral Care in Redlands is handling the arrangements.
