Richard Isaac Benveniste, age 53, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 10, 2018 after battling both colon cancer and lung cancer for a year.
Richard was born February 20, 1964 in Orange, CA to Joshua and Beverly (Johnson) Benveniste. He was a 1982 graduate of Orange High School. Richard met his "bride", Andrea (Canales) Benveniste, at the 1984 Rose Parade and they married on June 5, 1988 in Riverside, CA. Richard and Andrea moved to Redlands, CA in 1994 where they raised their two children Jacob Isaac Benveniste (27) and Sydney Rae Benveniste (17).

Richard came from a long lineage of florists and continued the family tradition by dedicating his life to the industry he loved. He worked as a Market Area Consultant for 1800 Flowers, BloomNet and was recognized as an industry leader and a top salesperson receiving multiple recognitions for being a crucial member of their "Pinnacle" team.

Richard had a gift of connecting with people and lived life bold, brave, honest and with integrity. He loved spending time with family, traveling, days at the beach, and camping with the Boy Scouts. Richard loved all sports but seemed most alive on a pool deck where you could find him volunteering and cheering on all swimmers, but especially Jake and Sydney aka "Bear".

Richard is survived by his wife, Andrea; children, Jacob and Sydney; sister, Cindy Lanzbom; brothers, Ron, Steve, and Daniel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded by brothers Michael and David.

Family, friends, and those whose lives Richard touched are invited to a "Celebration of Life" at Trinity Church, Redlands, CA on Saturday at 1551 Reservoir Rd. Redlands at 12 p.m. Richard was laid to rest at a private burial at Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, CA.

Although his time with us was brief, Richard Isaac Benveniste lived life to the fullest and consistently lived his virtues of honesty, integrity and love. Please honor his memory by consistently making the choice to live your virtues.
