Passed from this life on February 5, 2016 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born November 10, 1961 in Redlands to Diana and Verne Holmes at Redlands Community Hospital, joining her two siblings, Mark and Deborah. She attended Redlands schools, graduating from Redlands High School in 1980. A student at Crafton Hills College, she later received her BS from USC in 1986 in Dental Hygiene. Mary's career in dental hygiene began in Rancho Cucamonga, eventually working in Redlands in the dental offices of Dr. Swanson and Dr. Helbron. In 1989 she married Jeff Bonadiman, with sons Tyler and Conner born in 1992 and 1995. A lifelong Redlander, Mary was active in Kimberly Juniors, a member of the First Baptist Church, and later Holy Name of Jesus (Sacred Heart) Church and a long time supporter of other women diagnosed with breast cancer with a special interest in metastatic breast cancer research. She also worked as a sales consultant for Arbonne and Nuskin products.
Mary's kind nature made her a favorite with so many of her dental patients as well as the women she counseled. First diagnosed in 1996, Mary received continued care at the Norris Cancer Center at her alma mater, USC. It was over the course of her long treatment that Mary and Jeff raised their sons. Many have commented that she did so with remarkable courage, never losing her warm smile nor her cheerful disposition.
Mary is survived by her husband Jeff Bonadiman, sons Tyler and Conner, and her mother Diana Holmes, all of Redlands, and by her brother Mark Holmes and his wife Camille, and their daughters Sydney and Delaney of Turlock, her sister Deborah Holmes and her husband Steve Van Mouwerik, and their sons Jesse and Reid of Portland. She was preceded in death by her father, Verne Holmes.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Name of Jesus, 110 W. Olive Ave., Redlands on Fri., Feb. 19 at 11:00 AM.
