Loretta Catherine Roy passed Thursday, September 5th, 2019 in the city of Redlands.
Loretta Catherine Van Orden was born in Lodi New Jersey to parents Lester and Catherine Van Orden, both from New Jersey. She and brother, Fred Van Orden grew up in New Jersey. She attended school up to the ninth grade.
Loretta met and married her husband, Frank Brice Roy in Sussex, New Jersey, on October 20th 1946. Together they had two beautiful daughters; Carol Reiley on June 13th, 1954; Deborah Roberts on March 2nd, 1960; and a son Frank Roy, born July 15th, 1962, who and passed July 16,1987.
She also has 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Loretta was a devote Catholic her entire life, but did attend a Baptist Church after surviving a stroke and no longer able to drive.
In 1958, Loretta and Frank moved to California. Brother Fred was always there for them.
Loretta went to Nursing School, becoming a Nurse's Aide, which she absolutely loved!!
Later on in years, Loretta and Frank went to school for Hotel & Property Management. They managed apartments in Costa Mesa for a few years.
Loretta loved crocheting, watching old movies, bingo, the casino & bible study groups, talking with her friends. Most of all, she loved singing and dancing, as they were always a complete joy for her.
Loretta Roy will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. May she Rest in Peace, reunited with her beloved husband Frank.
