JD WILSON

JD Wilson was born on March 27, 1924 in Ontario, California to (Mary) Pearl and John Wilson. He passed away on April 4, 2016 in Apple Valley, California surrounded by his family. JD attended Lindsay High School in Lindsay, California from 1938-1941. He lettered in Track and Field and also in Basketball. He participated in West Coast Relays in Fresno, California in 1940. He joined the United States Army in 1944 and served through 1945. He attained the rank of Sergeant and served in the South Pacific at Okinawa. After the war, he worked various jobs in the Central Valley of California but soon found his calling working at Hydro Conduit in the production of concrete pipe to serve the growing economy of Southern California. JD met and married his life love, Dorothy Marie and they married on November 5, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they had 4 four children. He left Hydro Conduit as the Plant Manager in 1971 and also in 1971 he and Dorothy purchased a hotel, Silver Pines Chalet in June Lake, California. Later he worked with Corollo Engineering as an Inspector for various construction projects throughout the United States. JD and Dorothy both supported the Girl Scouts of America, Law Enforcement and many Veterans Associations. He was a member of the June Lake Chamber of Commerce until 1980 and he was made the first ever honorary male girl scout in the 1960's. JD had a strong relationship with God. He and Dorothy were very dedicated to family and to each other. They were dedicated to helping people improve and better themselves. They "adopted" many orphaned children and adults, becoming the parents they needed. They were the couple that were loved wherever they went. They did not want to live without each other. They are a beautiful love story. JD will be forever missed by his family. He was so missed by his wife that she joined him just 10 days later. He is survived by his children: John Owen Wilson, Vici Miller, Pamyla Marie Dewitt, Michael Joseph Wilson. His sister Lorraine Purcott, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery.
